Frequently Asked Questions

Honest, plain answers about how Travel Tools works.

Is Travel Tools free?

Yes. Every tool in the current suite is free to use, with no hidden paywall on the core experience. Some future power features may become Premium, but the everyday tools real travellers rely on will stay free.

Does it work offline?

Most of it, yes. Once the page has loaded, packing lists, preferences, profiles, converters and travel knowledge keep working without a connection. Installing the app makes the offline experience even smoother.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no login, no email required. You can use everything anonymously.

How are packing lists generated?

Lists are built by a deterministic rule engine, not AI. Your destination, trip length, season, weather, travel profiles and personal preferences are combined to produce a tailored checklist that you can fully edit.

How accurate is the climate information?

For curated countries, climate data is based on documented monthly averages. For other destinations we fall back to regional patterns. Either way, treat the figures as guidance, not a forecast.

Why do some destinations show ‘climate estimates’?

When a destination is not in our curated set, climate values are derived from the surrounding climate zone. We label them as estimates so you know they are general guidance, not precise local readings.

Can I customise my packing lists?

Completely. Add, remove or rename items. Lists, profiles and preferences are saved automatically and can be reused for future trips.

Where are my preferences stored?

On your device, in your browser. We do not upload them, sync them, or attach them to any account.

Is my data shared?

No. We do not sell, share or transmit your travel data. There are no advertising trackers.

Can I install Travel Tools?

Yes. On most browsers you will see an ‘Install app’ option in the side menu. Once installed, it opens like a regular app and works offline.

Does it work on mobile?

Travel Tools is designed mobile-first and tested on small screens. It also works on tablet and desktop.

How often is travel information updated?

Country data, climate zones and tool logic are reviewed periodically. If you notice something inaccurate, please report it, it really helps.

Will there be more tools in the future?

Yes. The architecture is designed to grow calmly over time. New tools are added when they earn their place, not to inflate a feature list.
